Public Viewing /Yadkin County Park Feb 21st

Paul Wooten to all
A big Thank You to the members who came out tonight to the Yadkin County Park and helped with the star party for the Yadkinville Elementary School students. Reports have attendance at 150-200 students and parents. We only got to see the moon for a while but the kids and parents were really excited and many commented that they wanted us to do it again. Many parents teachers told me to extend their thanks to the club for sponsoring this event.

To all Club Members:  UPDATE

Hi All,

To all FAS Members: I have been watching four weather sites and they vary in their cloud cover prediction from 6pm – 9pm. At this time, I am proceeding as planned with the viewing at the Yadkin County Park tonight starting at 6:30 and hoping for clear skies at least until 9pm. If you are bringing a scope, tell the parking attendants and they will direct you to the viewing site so you can park close by. Thanks in advance to all those helping with this first time event. The kids  of Yadkinville Elementary are really excited about this event!

There will be a public viewing for the students of Yadkinville Elementary School on Thursday, Feb 21st, from 6:30-8:30pm at:

Yadkin County Park
6600 Service Rd.
Yadkinville, NC 27055
Time: 6:30 – 8:30

I will post signs inside the park directing you to the viewing spot/parking.

I did a presentation at the school recently and the kids were very excited about the opportunity to gaze through a scope at the stars so I expect a lot to show up.
