Directions to Kaleideum

Kaleideum is located at 120 W 3rd Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101, at the corner with Town Run Lane.

Directions

From outside Winston-Salem, take US 421/Salem parkway or I-52 into Winston-Salem.

  • If you are coming from the north or south on I-52: Take the exit onto US 421/Salem parkway north (going west) and follow the directions below as if you are coming from the east.
  • If you are coming from the east and going west on US-421 N: Take exit 233B onto Cherry St.
  • If you are coming from the west and going east on US-421 S: Take exit 233B toward Marshall and Cherry St. onto High St. From High St., cross Marshall St., and then turn left onto Cherry St.
  • From Cherry St., turn right onto West Second St., then turn left onto Town Run Ln.
    • Liberty Plaza Parking Deck: The parking deck is on the right.
    • Street parking on 3rd Street: Continue up Town Run Ln. Turn right onto 3rd Street, which is now two way in front of Kaleideum.

Parking (Liberty Plaza)

The nearest parking garage is the Liberty Plaza parking deck at 235 Town Run Ln NW (across from the Post Office) near the corner of Town Run Lane and West Second Street. Parking is $2 per hour and is not free on weekends or after 5 pm. For folks going to Kaleideum during the day, the museum offers discounted half-off parking at $4. The Kaleideum discount is not available in the evening for FAS meetings.

Street Parking

You can also park on the street. Metered street parking is free after 5 pm and on the weekend. There are several spots on 3rd street in front of Kaleideum or up 3rd street toward Cherry Street. You can also park on Liberty Street near the corner of 3rd Street.

Parking (4th and Church)

The Parking Deck at 4th and Church Street (one block east of Main street and north of 4th street) might be free after 7 pm on weekdays. However, it might be closed on weekends. From the parking deck, walk south across 4th street to 3rd street and then right (west) to Kaleideum.

Meeting Room for FAS

FAS typically meets in the 1st floor La STEAM B room. Enter through the side entrance (Members and Group entrance on the left). Go straight ahead into the meeting room. When leaving, go out through the same side door and make sure the door is closed tight behind you.

Please DO NOT wander throughout the building – The exhibits are NOT open during our meetings.
