Mapping the World (2026 Update)

Just in case you missed it, there has been a lot of discussion lately about maps. No, it is not the name of a gulf and one of the great lakes. First, there is the question of how big Greenland really is. In addition, on September 4, 2026, the United Nations voted to update their maps from the older Mercator projection to the newer 2018 Equal Earth projection, which more correctly shows the areas of various countries.
