Wednesday November 14th, 7:30 pm at Kaleideum North the Forsyth Astronomical Society will have its regularly scheduled monthly meeting. To commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the Apollo 8 mission, the program for the FAS November meeting is a documentary video entitled Earthrise, by Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee. This film combines archival footage and current-day interviews with the Apollo 8 astronauts Frank Borman, James Lovell, and Bill Anders. These three astronauts were the first humans to capture an image of Earth from space. This documentary tells the story behind this iconic photograph.
Following the presentation portion, we will have a brief business/planning meeting and as always, there will be an informal social gathering 30 minutes or so before the meeting. Come early for the best choice of doughnuts. All meetings are open to the public, free of charge and all are welcome. Hope to see you there.
