Public Observation at Central Library on December 1

WEATHER UPDATE: The weather is looking favorable and this event will proceed as planned. See you there!

———————

The Forsyth Astronomical Society (FAS) is going to the LIBRARY!

FAS will hold a public observation at the Forsyth County Central Library on Thursday, December 1. The event runs from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on the front lawn of the library at 660 W Fifth St., Winston-Salem.

Pre-registration is NOT required, nor do you need your library card. Everyone is welcome! Oh yes, the library will be OPEN, serving hot cocoa and cookies (while the supply lasts).

If conditions are favorable, we will be able to see the Moon, Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, and other interesting celestial objects.

This event is dependent on the WEATHER. Clouds and rain do make it difficult to observe the night sky, so check the FAS website or Facebook page for a weather update. We’ll try to make a final weather call by Tuesday, November 29. If this event is postponed, the rainout date is Thursday, December 29.
