We enjoyed visiting the Forsyth Central Library’s “Night Under the Stars” event (6 to 7:30pm) on December 1. We were able to view the Moon, Jupiter, and Saturn with the telescopes provided by FAS VP Bruce Gavett, President Justin Nichols, Secretary Andrea Nichols, and Wally Otti. The skies were clear and the earlier wind had died down, so it was great viewing! Around 50 people attended, as we stayed a little longer than the scheduled 7:30pm in order to ensure the all library patrons and staff could have a look when the library closed at 8:00pm. The library also provided snacks & hot cocoa, story time, and a special astronomical craft for kids.
