Clear Outside

Clear Outside features an annual darkness chart and Bortle light pollution values for a particular location. It also is a 7-day hourly cloud & weather forecast provider, designed by astronomers for astronomers. The annual charts are particularly helpful if you are picking a location to view a solar eclipse. A real-time view is to the right.

Clear Sky Chart

The Clear Sky Chart is developed by Attilla Danko using data from Allan Rahill at the Canadian Meteorological Center (basis for the Clear Sky Alarm Clock).  It shows at a glance when, in the next 96 hours, we might expect clear and dark skies for one specific observing site. It is specifically intended for amateur astronomers.

An Apple app is also available.

NOAA GOES Satellite Images

The GOES satellite senses electromagnetic energy at five different wavelengths. There are two wavelengths most commonly shown on weather broadcasts: Infrared (IR) and Visible. IR is also has colorized enhancements to bring out details in cloud patterns.
