Finally, the clouds cleared and the weather held steady. We made it up to Pilot Mt. State Park on Friday February 13 and over to Yadkin County on Saturday March 7. We had too many clouds, but went inside for some indoor activities at the Forsyth County Central Library on Thursday, February 26.
We observed the planet Jupiter along with several deep-sky objects such as the Orion Nebula and the Pleiades. One member brought his Seestar S50 and captured images of the Witch Head Nebula (IC 2118).

Oh yes, the sunset from Pilot Mountain was quite nice as well.

If you missed these, we’ll be back to Pilot Mountain on Friday, March 13 (weather permitting). We also have a couple observations planned on Saturday, April 6 at Kaleideum and Yadkin County for the NC Statewide Star Party.
